Missed

Well, it has been a while since I last blogged. I decided to title this "Missed" because:

A) I am sure everyone misses reading my posts? As entertaining as they are!!

and

B) I can't believe that I actually missed stepping on the present my cat left for me.

I walked into my house after work today with my sunglasses still on and I actually noticed a few feathers approximately 1 foot away from the carcass shown in the pictures. I walked right by this thing, dropped the mail on the counter, listened to the phone messages and turned around to come to my computer and made my discovery! Can you see it in this first photo?? It kinda blends into the tile so you can see how I could miss seeing it. He is a killer, I have raised a killer.....

SUSHI TIME

If only every sushi plate came out looking like this one?!!? I am on a search for the best sushi place in town and was told that the famed Men's Club has excellent sushi. So, I ventured out for lunch at the local stripper bar. The sushi was OK, but I was a bit put out when I saw the bill. When I was asked what I would like to drink, I ordered some water. Out came the average single serving size bottle of water, which was fine. I thought to myself, how much can this be? So I did not make a stink about it. Normally, I just drink tap water and thought that was what I was going to get. Nope, I got a $4.25 1pint and 9 fluid ounces of water. Who the hell charges 5$ for a small bottle of water? It's just water for crying out loud!! Let's just say, if my water had been free the Men's Club would have ranked a little higher on the sushi scale.

Memories

I had a Valentine memory hit me at the weirdest moment today and decided that I would write about it. Why not?

Geeze, do I tell you where I was when I had this memory? Of course I will but I am sure people are going to think I have some sort of fetish, which I don't.............

Ok, I was in the bathroom (perhaps the bathroom is a great place to think??) and for some unknown reason I was thinking about past Valentine days.... and my thoughts brought me back to when I was in college.

I was at afternoon swim practice and one of the guys that I worked with at the planetarium showed up on the pool deck with a single red rose, just for me. I remember that all the girls on the team and I were doing a kick set so our heads were out of the water and I could see him (as could all the other girls) at the end of the lane waiting for me.

Funny thing was, I did not have any kind of feelings for this guy and kinda thought of him as a kid brother that I don't have. I thought of him as a "kid" even though he was practically the same age as I was. None the less, it did make me feel good and I still have that memory of him.

F-ing Fabulous!!!

Ok people, I have one question for ya:

How many recipes have I shared with you on this blog??

Ok, now that I kinda thought about it I have shared one (Lemonade Diet-Lemonade) but the recipe that I am about to share with you is sooooo much more than the Lemonade thing, soooo much more!! You simply have to make this, you won't regret it!!

F-ing Fabulous

Ingredients
2 Tbl ground coriander
1 Cup finely chopped onion
3 Tbl vegetable oil
1 tsp minced garlic and ginger
1/2 Cup of chopped tomatoes, fresh or canned drained
(I used a whole 14.5oz can of petite cut tomatoes)

Spice Mixture
1/2 tsp of ground cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper
1/4 tsp of turmeric
1/16 tsp of ground cinnamon and ground cloves

1/2 tsp fennel seeds coarsley ground w/mortar and pestle
1 tsp salt
1/4 Cup water
1/2 Cup canned unsweetened coconut milk

and 8 eggs

Directions:

Hard boil the eggs (try not to over cook them), peel and slice in half lengthwise using a piece of thread. The thread is a smoother cut and does not stick to the thread.

While the eggs are boiling, place the ground coriander into a small dry fry pan and toast lightly over medium heat. Stir constantly until it becomes aromatic, 2-3 minutes.

In a large frying pan over medium heat, fry onion in oil until it turns light brown, add the garlic and ginger and stir for 1 minute.

Add toasted coriander, tomoatoes, spice mixture, fennel seeds, sald and fry until tomato pieces are very soft and break up. Add 1/4 C water and simmer to produce a thick paste.

Unfortunately, this is where my recipe stops, what about the coconut milk?? The eggs??? No worries, I winged it and it was still F-ing Fabulous!!

Add the coconut milk (recipe calls for 1/2 cup, I used 1/2 a can), stir well, add the halved eggs and simmer for a few minutes.

I made some basmati rice and picked up a package of frozen naan at Trader Joes and I will only say it one more time--

F-ING FABULOUS!!!!

Today when I walked into the restroom at work and saw the toilet seat covers hanging on the wall I thought to my self:

"Self, I don't believe that I really know how to use those things."

As I am sitting there contemplating the correct usage a fellow coworker walks into the stall next to mine. I listened as they unmistakeably pulled a cover from the box and I sat there wondering just how she knew how to use this item. I have used them before and always thought it a drag to have to punch out the center piece but as I sat there listening, I don't think that my coworker punched out the center. It sounded as tho she just layed the paper layer onto the toilet seat and peed her way through it. Is this how the toilet seat cover is to be used? Or does one need to punch the opening prior to peeing?

Tell me, What is proper toilet seat cover etiquette??

Guess???

Well, it was requested for me to show the "fruits" of my labor. Believe it or not, this was the makings of a Raw Chocolate Tort! And it contained raw black olives! When I was in the process of making this delectable dish I had a small appliance meltdown in my kitchen. First, the blade on the food processor decided to crumble and rendered it unusable! I then tried my concoction in the blender to no avail! Lastly, I resorted to my brand new juicer, which worked like a charm, but I apparently missed a pit in one of the olives and chipped off a piece of my juicer blade. So, this picture looked like a big pile of shit and I had to take a picture. I wasn't gonna let all my hard work go to waste so, I served the finished product to all my coworkers! Remember that chip off of the juicer? It ended up getting ground up and was somewhere in the mess pictured above! The tort would have been a bigger hit if it didn't have all that gritty stuff in it and I of course did not tell anyone what that grit was........until after they at least tried one bite! Hee heee heee
I probably would have like it better but the crust had a smooshed up banana and I am not a big fan of bananas! I actually liked the other raw cake I made that night....the secret ingredient was avocados!!!
Key Lime Pie!!
