Because people did die to give you the right to vote. Actually they gave you the right to choose your leader. Not reason enough? What candidate out there best represents your viewpoint? choose your best candidate. We need viable third party options and the only way to make those third parties legit is to bring in the vote. Perot was a viable third party candidate for me. To the mainstream media he was just a Republican spoiler who put Clinton in the White House. I still voted for him and I probably still would. If the media hadn't pigeon-holed him we may have had more 3rd party options. Buchanan isn't my option. Repeat: the only way to encourage third party candidates is to vote for third party candidates. The only way to send a message to the major parties that their ways are no longer acceptable is to vote third party AND vote third party candidates into office starting in your own backyard and on up the chain. I didn't actually respond back to this person because I think this person was on her high school debate team and was the captain! And in all actuality, I really don't know a whole heck of a lot about politics and what is happening outside my own little space and trying to argue with this person only confuses me. She uses lots of terms, phrases, names and dates that I have no idea where they came from or what they mean. She is a very intelligent friend of mine whom I value very because she is someone in my life that can get me fired up about things, henceforth an educator for me. (me)
