Vote Response #6
If you don't vote, then NO, your vote doesn't count. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy; your opinion doesn't matter, and your letting those that DO vote make decisions for you. If you choose not to vote, then you're saying loud and clear, that YOU DON'T CARE enough about yourself or your community to take an hour out of your day to express your opinion. My thought...if you don't vote, then you have no right to criticize the product of the voting process. Stop whining and go live in a dictatorship!!! (Responder)
I should have clarified in my first email that I really am only referring to voting for President. I do see how voting is important at a city/local level. What if I vote for the person who loses, does my vote count then? If you are not siding with the majority then your vote does NOT count and the winner of President is decided long before people ever step in the booth. Because it is a majority rules system and the minority voters have no representation then we already are living in a dictatorship of the majority, which may or may not be my choice! I am living in a dictatorship!!! I would rather live in a free country. And tell me how often have you heard me critize the product of the voting process? I am not sure what you mean by: If you choose not to vote, then you're saying loud and clear, that YOU DON'T CARE enough about yourself or your community to take an hour out of your day to express your opinion. I don't see the relation of voting and caring for myself? (me)
