9 Months/2 Days

Well, it has been 9 months and 2 days since my mom died. There hasn't been a day that has gone by that I haven't thought about her. I am waiting for that day when I actually DON'T think about her. Does it ever come? Will I even notice?

What seems to be in the air lately? There is depression all around me and I don't know how to stop it. Is it the change of seasons? Or, is it in the air?

I think about death a lot. Not really my own, but others. How will I react when ________ dies? What am I gonna do if _______dies? What will happen if ________ dies?

Life is short! Period!..... There is never enough time to do the things we need and want.

Addendum to the NO-NO List

Ok, I have been receiving some flak about my No-No Food list, so this is a little clarification/addendum.

Yes, Meat, the whole food group of Meat is counting as 1 item because I won't eat beef, pork, or poultry. Not because I don't like it, except chicken, chicken is something becoming rather vile to me. Does anyone else out there smell that smell when working with raw chicken, even eggs seem to be acquiring it??? I don't eat Meat all on a principle thing, not because I don't like it, principle.

So, Seafood and Fish I eat. That is a totally different category right but in a lot of minds it is considered MEAT? But of course there are exceptions to some items in this category. I don't eat the funky looking creatures like squid or octopus and oysters are kinda gross. I think I don't like that grittiness of them.

On to the Cooked Fruit. I don't like fruit pies or cooked fruit anything. Raisin bread, Blueberry muffins, or Apple pie. There is an exception to this rule. I do like a good mixed berry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream! And I like strawberry pies, but think about it, those aren't cooked.

Now, Milk alone is what I don't drink/eat. I don't nay-say the whole food group of Milk. Because, I eat cheese and a lot of it. Take a look at my big cheesy ass, there is the evidence to that!! Really, the whole food group of Milk is not banned, you just won't find a gallon of it in my fridge. Oh, don't forget ice cream falls in this category-I definitely partake in ice cream but I prefer a piece of chocolate cake.

Well, I hope this has clarified my "bizarre" eating habits for all of you. There is one thing I forgot to add to my list and that is onions, I don't care for them. I will eat the little green onions but the big hunks of onions that I can see, ummm NO!!

Thirteen Things that are on my NO-NO list for eating. Out at Burning Man I was accused of being a finicky eater and was asked to create a Blog about all of my idiosyncrasies....ha ha ha, little did they know that I already have one!

1. Any Meat other than fish.....I don't claim I am a vegetarian because I still eat fish. I don't eat meat more because of the principle of eating meat, there are times that I would love a bite of steak or a slow cooked pork shoulder.

2. Cooked Fruit! No apple pie for me.

3. Green Peppers, red, yellow or orange either. They have a flavor that infiltrates all food that it is touching or cooked with and I don't like it, at all.

4. Carrots, I like carrots in the raw form but I especially don't like carrots cooked into cake, Carrots don't belong in cake! So, that leaves Carrot Cake on the No-no list for me.

5. I don't especially care for blueberries or bananas cooked or raw.

6. Ketchup, I have never really eaten ketchup, even as a child. Perhaps that is my aversion to tomatoes? But, I do eat tomatoes, I just don't like them all that much.

7. I don't drink Milk either. I attribute this to when I was a kid and my mother tried to fool us into thinking that we were drinking milk when it really was that powdered crap. Yuck. So, where I won't drink a big glass of milk, I will eat cheese, yogurt, ice cream, and I do put 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee in the morning.

8. I know that the next one falls under my very first item but if you have known me for any length of time you would know that even when I was eating chicken, pork and beef that I never, ever, ever would eat Sausage! Ever!

9. I can't think of any other items that I won't eat, I am sure there is something out there that I am forgetting, but from the looks of things, I am really not all that finicky of an eater. There are only 8 things on my list, ok, some fall into categories and the total number is greater than 8 but it really isn't that difficult to remember the main 8. And if you really think about it, number 8 doesn't shouldn't even count as one because it falls under the first item on my list. So, that leaves 7 items. Not too shabby!
