Vote Response #7
You have to vote because your Dad says you have to vote. If you don't he's going to kick you in the ass! Everyone that thinks their vote doesn't count who fails to vote can and has, as recently as the last Presidential election, resulted in a person being elected who otherwise would not have been elected. Those persons elected are the ones that set the policies that are implimented by the government. That government affect every aspect of all of our lives. GO to the polls on Nov. 2 and VOTE!! (Responder-Gee I wonder who this is?)
Dad,If I were to vote for Michael Badnarik. Will my vote count then? If so, what will it count for? Will this result in a person being elected who otherwise would not have been elected? I will answer that for you, NO! Even if I vote for John Kerry, Nevada will still go for Bush. Will my vote count then? Again, I will answer for you, NO! So, it looks like, in order for my vote to actually count, I must vote for Bush. Yes, the government does affect every aspect of our lives and the US would be a better democracy if they practiced proportional representation and had more than 2 political parties. So, Dad your arguement is Bullshit and I am glad my ass is 3000 miles away. (Me)
Who the hell is Michael Badnarik? I didn't know that Nevada had already counted the votes in the Presidential election. It will probably go Republican but who knows for sure. Guess you do. They say Bush has Alabama too but that's not stopping me. Some states do select their Electoral votes by Senate or Congressional Districts. Maybe you can get involved and help change Nevadas system of choosing Electors.Bright young adults need to get involved within the existing system if they want make things change. I've got a 3000 mile long right leg. That's why I walk funny.---- Hope you work through your frustrations with the political system. Love you either way. (Responder)
Dad,Michael Badnarik is the Libratarian candidate for President. It's pretty sad, I didn't know his name either, I had to look it up before emailing you last nite. So, are you agreeing with me? My vote probably doesn't count. It would be futile for me to get involved with politics here in Nevada, one state can't change the whole country. I would have to get involved in every state and I wouldn't live long enough to make it through each state. You can pull your leg back in and put it away, I will be voting. Why, you ask? Because I can. (Me)
