“Mainstream politics today does not even begin to deal with the reality of the human being in the human condition, and consequently strikes us (especially the admirable young prior to their being brain-washed) as utterly foolish, absurd, irrelevant and boring because we do not feel that our essential concerns are remotely catered for. Just as the neurotic individual today is relatively healthier than the 'well-adjusted' conformist, so those completely disillusioned with the modern political system demonstrate far higher political astuteness than those who take the charade seriously.”
